Read the story
After Christian forces were defeated by Saladin’s Arabian army and the Jerusalem was lost, the Teuton Knights in 1211 moved to Tara Barsei in Transylvania, to help in the defense against barbarian invasions. Their settlement was granted by the donation document issued by King Andrew the IInd of Hungary in the same year. The Teuton Knights built numerous entrenched fortresses in Tara Barsei with the support of local people, such as the ones from Feldioara, Cetatea Neagra, Cetatea Crucii etc. Also, they colonized numerous German peasants and craftsmen who provided the necessary food and craft products. In time, these people were called Sasi and settled amongst local population consisting mostly of Romans, then Slavic and probably barbarian people. The first towns set up or strongly developed by the new comers were Feldioara, Brasov, Codlea, Rasnov and Prejmer. Around 1225, the Teuton knights no longer remained solid to the Hungarian king and devoted their territory to the Pope. This was also facilitated by the Order’s connections with the Papacy, especially the connections between Grand Master Hermann von Salza and Roman-German Emperor Frederic the IInd and Pope Honorius the IIIrd . Thus, in 1225, the king started a decisive battle against the knights who were defeated and expelled from Tara Barsei.
DEPLOYMENT
The participants are divided into teams. The teams will undergo the same challenges, which they have to find in the forest using the clues gained in the previous challenge. Amongst the challenges to be “made available” to the contestants, we mention: team problem solving, perspicacity/clue finding in the fortress challenges, escalading the fortress walls on a rope ladder, crossing a "rope bridge” placed above the water trench defending the fortress, spider web (the team must pass through the holes of a spider web made from a lace), archery and other medieval challenges.
WHO WINS
The team who gathers most points after completing the tasks and the clues encountered on the itinerary wins the great lost treasure of Teuton Knights. Its secret was lost in the night when they were massacred upon the order of Pope Honorius the IIIrd and Emperor Frederic the IInd. The members of the winning team will be granted the title of TEUTON KNIGHT OF
