Dambovicioara Cave

Dambovicioarei Defile, the biggest junction of defiles in the country (more than 20), is famous for its spectacular views and the numerous specific cave landscape elements: more than 50 caves, cavities, arches or underground waters. The most famous of these all is Dambovicioara Cave.

Dambovicioara Caveis situates in the caving area of Rucar – Bran corridor, one of the most developed countrywide. It was formed by the action of downstream Dambovicioara river upon the calcarous rocks of Piatra Craiului Massif dating from Jurassic time.

It is a warm cave with temperatures ranging between
10 - 12 °C, moderated humidity and crossed by a light
warm stream.
